While this has been a challenging year for TAMEST with the loss of our Executive Director Mary Beth Maddox, we are also inspired by her spirit to move our organization even higher.
Our upcoming conference on neuroscience and brain health promises to be one of our best. The program features first-class speakers, and joining us will be a number of early-career protégés and other researchers outside of our organization who will see firsthand the fellowship and spirit of TAMEST. A highlight of the conference is our awards program recognizing the work of rising Texas researchers. We are looking forward to honoring the recipients of this year’s Edith and Peter O’Donnell Awards and sharing their noteworthy achievements with you. The conference is open to all in the research community, and we are enthusiastic about the opportunities this provides to expand the reach of TAMEST and to raise the profile of research in Texas.
We have also recently launched a series of regional networking meetings at our member institutions for TAMEST members and others engaged in research in Texas. These events help increase awareness of our organization and foster new connections throughout the state.
This work would not be possible without your support. By giving financial support to TAMEST, you help build a stronger culture of research and innovation in Texas.
In addition to annual giving, there is a new opportunity to support TAMEST this year. The Mary Beth Maddox Excellence Fund was established to celebrate her life by allowing TAMEST to support projects that further our mission and live up to her memory and ideals.
Thank you for your support to help us create a brighter future for TAMEST and for Texas.
